It was a leap for Rory DeJohn-moving from a position as president of a small construction management firm to joining industry giant Turner in 1994 as a Project Executive in the New York office. But it certainly wasn’t a leap of faith.

“I worked with Turner on several projects over the years and knew the company’s people had the highest level of integrity. I wanted my name associated with that,” DeJohn explains.

His 30 years at Turner is coupled with nearly 17 years of experience in construction management at DeJohn/Sullivan, Inc., in New York City; and at the Pennsylvania Avenue Development Corporation (PADC), a government agency in Washington, D.C.

Much of what DeJohn liked at PADC is mirrored in his work at Turner. “Earlier in my career at PADC, I had the opportunity to work with some of the industry’s most notable leaders, including architects I.M. Pei and Nathaniel Owings of Skidmore, Owings and Merrill,” he remembers. “At Turner, I worked with the same level of people and it was truly exciting.”
